1) Antique Bakery is now dropped, because a key member lost interest in the show and doesn’t have as much time as before. And no, we don’t have anyone to fill in. Furthermore there are two other good groups subbing it, so you probably won’t be missing much, or nothing, if you’ve been following our version.
2) Les Miserables is dropped, since we had a second (or is it third?) translator disappear that was meant to work on it. And once again, no, we don’t have anyone to fill in. This one is worse off, since there are no other fansubs out (even non-English ones, well… there are, but they’re not much further than the English ones and are stuck too for whatever reasons). Just shows how little interest there is in unpopular series. I could go and rant on about that, but most people in front of the screen don’t care, so I’ll leave it for the staff channel.
3) We are looking for a temporary translation checker for all our current projects. The current one seems to have been busy lately, hence why Shugo Chara is stuck on translation checking and soon more will come to that stage.
4) We are looking for a translator. No, not freelance. For what show/period? Well, that’s up to the translator. We have some preferences and whatnot, but if someone manages to get as far as applying for it on our IRC channel (#formula-recruits on Rizon) you’ll surely hear about it there. Also, please don’t apply if you plan on disappearing or thinking that idling is what fansubbers do.
5) Xam’d is awesome, but Sony needs a bit of a slap.
Sorry for some of the points sounding bitter, but given their content I cannot help it.
Have a nice day.
P.S. For those wondering… No, translation checking does not involve checking typos. You check for… translation errors, as the title suggests, therefore you need to be proficient in both the source and target language.
